Game Summary
  • First Quarter: Susquehanna scored on its opening drive and was poised to do so again on its second possession after picking off a deflected pass. The Bullets held firm with sophomore Brent Hayes (Biglerville, Pa./Biglerville) picking up a big sack and assisting on a tackle of Ruisch to force a turnover on downs. Gettysburg wasted no time on its ensuing possession as Edmond found Lajoie in space and the sophomore wide receiver slipped his defender to run 73 yards to the end zone. The tie was short-lived as the River Hawks picked up an 88-yard kickoff return touchdown by Christian to grab a 14-7 lead.
  • Second Quarter: Ellington scored an early touchdown in the period on his way to 100 yards in the opening half. Ruisch capped a 12-play, 73-yard drive with a laser to Good in the end zone to push the advantage to 28-7.
  • Third Quarter: Gettysburg was poised to score at the start of the second half, setting up for a 30-yard field goal after a 58-yard drive. The kick was batted out of the air by Roumes into the waiting arms of Singleton, who dashed up the field 80 yards for a touchdown. A fumble by the Bullets later in the period resulted in another touchdown pass from Ruisch to Good to make it 42-7.
  • Fourth Quarter: In the fourth quarter, a 38-yard kickoff return by Mulcahy set up the Bullets for their second touchdown. Suarez lofted a perfectly placed pass to freshman Mike Vigliano (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) who turned his first career reception into his first career touchdown. Hezekiah Patterson posted a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown to close the day for Susquehanna's offense.
