SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- In the first of three straight home games, Swarthmore College Women's Basketball fell to Johns Hopkins University by the score of 81-53 at Tarble Pavilion on Tuesday night.

All 10 Garnet (1-4, 0-2) players contributed to the scoring total, and senior forward Audra Woodside led the way with a season-high 11. She also had a season-best nine rebounds to lead her team.

Swarthmore had trouble making shots early as the Blue Jays (5-0, 2-0) held the Garnet without a field goal in the first 4:07 of the game. Swarthmore junior guard Elizabeth Stiles stopped the drought by making the score 9-3 on a mid-range jump shot.

The Garnet only lost the second and third quarters by three and two, respectively. However, the damage was done at the beginning and end of the game.

Swarthmore's 39.6 field goal-percentage was better than Johns Hopkins' 39.0 percentage. But the Garnet took 48 shots in the game, and Hopkins took 77.

The Garnet are home again on Thursday at 7 p.m. against Ursinus and Saturday at 1 p.m. against Franklin & Marshall.
