The Muhlenberg women's cross country team had its second straight strong showing against tough competition at Haverford's Main Line Invitational.
Competing against three Division I schools and three other Division III regionally ranked schools, the Mules placed sixth out of seven teams. Ranked 10th in the Metro Region coming into the race, Muhlenberg finished 23 points ahead of Widener, which was ranked seventh in the region.
The two Division III teams ahead of Muhlenberg are ranked second in the Metro (Haverford) and fourth in the Mid-Atlantic (Elizabethtown).
Senior
Abby Dalton was third among Division III runners (26th overall) with a time of 18:00.1, 13 seconds better than her clocking in the same meet two years ago. Senior
Marielle Avola was the seventh Division III finisher.
The six Muhlenberg runners crossed the finish line in almost the exact same order as in the first meet of the season with the exception of junior
Adrienne Ellison (pictured above), who moved up a spot to fourth.
The Mule men, also ranked 10th in the region, placed eighth and had the second-best spread (1:27) among the five Division III squads.
Sophomore
Nathan Reimer and freshman
Markus Vottero ran 1-2 for Muhlenberg, while junior
Conner Soderstedt (pictured above) was the Mules' fourth finisher for the first time in his career with a time of 23:28.1, 32 seconds better than in the 2019 meet.
