ALLENTOWN, Pa.—No. 21 Swarthmore College Women's Soccer locked up the second seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament with a 3-0 road win on Wednesday night at Muhlenberg College.
The Garnet improved to 13-2-1 overall on the season and 7-1-1 in league play. Swarthmore will play either McDaniel College or Dickinson College on Nov. 3 in the Centennial Semifinals on the campus of Johns Hopkins University.
Swarthmore tallied all three of its goals in the second half. The Garnet out-shot the hosts 14-1 in the first but didn't get one past the goalkeeper until the 48th minute. Eleonore Moser put Swarthmore up 1-0 with her second tally of the year.
Sydney Covitz registered her fifth goal of the season in the 75th minute, and Sophia Stills netted her second of the year in the 77th minute.
By game's end, Swarthmore posted 27 shots to Muhlenberg's nine. Amy Shmoys recorded four saves in the shutout win.
Swarthmore concludes the regular season at home on Saturday against Haverford College with a 7 p.m. game. The Garnet will be honoring their senior class prior to the contest.
