The Muhlenberg women's basketball team jumped out to a 17-2 lead and cruised to a 64-39 win against Penn State Berks in the opening round of the Scotty Wood Tournament.
The Mules (2-0) advanced to the championship game for the 26th time in as many years in the Scotty Wood Tournament. Their opponent will be William Paterson, a 62-48 winner against Delaware Valley.Â
Employing aggressive pressing and mass substitutions, Muhlenberg forced 23 turnovers in the first half and scored more points - 43 - than the Nittany Lions did in the entire game. The Mules led by as many as 34 points late in the third quarter.
All 19 healthy players saw court time in the first quarter, and no Mule played more than 17 minutes.

Ashley Polera scored 9 points to go along with 4 assists, while senior
Carley Hamilton finished with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
