TOWSON, Md. - The men's tennis team traveled to Goucher Sunday morning before stopping at McDaniel in the afternoon. The Eagles lost to Goucher 9-0 but beat McDaniel 9-0.
In the morning, Ilia Buralkin (Moscow, Russia) and Utsav Dhir Deravariya (India / Sunway University) lost in first doubles 8-1, William Michelson (Old Mystic, Conn. / Stonington) and Seth Strawser (Richfield, Pa. / East Juniata) lost in second doubles 8-1, and Nate Whelan (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. / Point Pleasant Beach) and Keisuke Maesa (Tokyo, Japan / Nihon University) lost in third doubles 8-1.
Buralkin lost 6-0, 6-0 in first singles, Michelson lost 6-3, 6-0 in second singles, Strawser lost 6-0, 6-0 in third singles, Ezenna Emuka (Houston, Texas / William B. Travis) lost in fourth singles 6-0, 6-0, Whelan lost 6-1, 6-0, and Victor J.B Jung (Normandy, France) lost 6-0, 6-0 in sixth singles.
The Eagles then traveled to McDaniel where they secured a win.
In first doubles, Buralkin and Dhir Deravariya won 8-0, Michelson and Strawser won 8-3 in second doubles, and Whelan and Jung won 8-0 in third doubles.
JC carried their advantage into singles play as Buralkin won in first singles 6-0, 6-0, Michelson won in second singles 6-2, 6-0, Singer won 6-4, 6-4 in third singles, Strawser won in fourth singles 6-0, 6-1, Whelan won in fifth singles 6-0, 6-0, and Dhir Deravariya won in sixth singles 6-0, 6-1.
The Eagles host Penn State Altoona Tuesday, April 5 starting at 5:00 pm.
