The Short Story: The Blue Jays placed five runners in the top-10 to cruise to a team victory at the Rowan Border Battle on Saturday morning.
Race Highlights
The leader of the pack all season long for the Blue Jays,
Ashley Heidenrich led the way once again for Johns Hopkins, finishing second in a field of 275. The sophomore got to the front of the pack early and crossed the finish line in 21:41.82 to finish second in the 6K race. Returning for her first race since early September,
Alex Ross picked up right where she left off, crossing the line just two seconds after Heidenrich to grab the 2
nd and 3
rd spots for JHU. The Jays placed three more runners in the top-10, led by
Diana Vizza (21:52.82) who placed 6
th.
Sara Stephenson (22:00.73) and
Lina Spjut (22:13.18) finished 7
th and 10
th respectively. The Blue Jays finished with 29 points, placing first out of 35 teams.
