COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Swimming topped the Ursinus College Bears on Saturday afternoon, 159-103. The Garnet have not lost a Centennial Conference dual meet since January of 2017.
Swarthmore sped through Saturday's meet, setting five pool records in the process: the 200 medley and 200 free relays, the 200 fly, the 200 breaststroke and the 100 back.
Swarthmore's Horace Shew, Chris Smith, Jeffrey Tse, and Alec Lawless combined for a time of 1:34.54 to win the 200 medley relay which opened Saturday's meet.
Swarthmore's Alec Menzer beat his older brother Jake Menzer of Ursinus in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:58.92, winning by more than 13 seconds.
Freshman Ethan Bergmann led the field through each lap in the 200 free and won with a time of 1:45.43.
Tse earned Swarthmore another nine points by winning the 100 back in 51.68, and added another win in the 200 breaststroke (2:08.06). His breaststroke time was more than 11 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
In the 100 breast, Smith registered a winning time of 59.68.
Freshman Jeremy Rockaway won the 200 fly in 1:55.05 and the 200 IM in 1:59.74. Classmate Alec Lawless won the 100 free in 48.63.
The Garnet capped off Saturday's win with first place in the 200 free relay.
Swarthmore is back in action next Saturday at home against Washington College.
