How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: Gettysburg took four shots and forced three penalty corners, but came up empty as Meeder stopped the only attempt on goal by sophomore Henna Fraiman (Lutherville, Md./Roland Park Country) in the 13th minute.
  • Second Quarter: Bertrando put the Bullets ahead early in the period, corralling her own rebound and slapping it past Meeder in the 19th minute. Caputo posted a pair of saves before Godfrey scored in front of the cage in the 28th minute to tie the contest.
  • Third Quarter: Meeder knocked away a hot shot by Soares early in the third period. The Red Devils nearly took the lead in the 38th minute on a slap by Maddie Dombroski, but Nicol made a diving stop with her stick to maintain the deadlock. Caputo added two more stops of her own in the 40th and 43rd minutes.
  • Fourth Quarter: Soares muscled her way to a goal in the 48th minute, out-dueling several Dickinson defenders to knock the loose ball into the back of the cage. The Red Devils found the equalizer on a penalty stroke by Spiri with just 3:48 remaining in the game. Meeder made one final save on an attempt by Soares 30 seconds later to help send the game to overtime.
  • Overtime: The Bullets wasted no time going after the win, driving to the cage just over a minute into the extra session. A penalty stroke was awarded following a move to the cage and Bertrando stepped in front and drilled the winner just inside the right post.

By the Numbers
