GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's swimming team broke its second record in as many days at its home invitational as the 800-yard freestyle relay established a new standard on Saturday.
Gettysburg claimed the team title at its own invitational, edging University of Mary Washington 965-949. Dickinson College was third with 665 points followed by Susquehanna University (435) and Bryn Mawr College (150).
The morning session ended on a high note as Gettysburg knocked off the 800 free relay record by 0.06 seconds. Senior
Lindsay Hayden (Enfield, Conn./Suffield Academy), freshmen
Katie Cooper (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) and
Megan Wojnar (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan), and junior
Kate Crilly (Shrewsbury, N.J./Ranney School) touched the wall in a time of 7:52.47 to best the previous program mark established six years ago.

Cate Kosko (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury East) to win the 200 free relay to kick off the evening session. Hayden held off a late charge by Mary Washington to win the race in 1:38.94, which marked the seventh-fastest time in program history.
Wojnar, who broke Gettysburg's record in the 200 backstroke on Friday, picked up two individual wins Saturday. She opened the day by claiming the top spot in the 400 IM with a time of 4:36.76, a time that put her in fourth on the Bullets' all-time list. Wojnar came back in the evening session to record the fifth-fastest time in the 500 free at 5:09.57 on the way to her second victory of the day.
Cooper completed her sweep of the breaststroke events at the invitational by earning the top spot in the 100-yard event Saturday. She knifed through the water in 1:05.84, finishing just 0.43 behind the school record held by
Caroline Moyer '17. Cooper also posted the team's top time in the 50 free, finishing second in 24.84.
For the second day in a row, freshman
Katie Jenkins (Bow, N.H./Bow) finished second behind Mary Washington's Carley Vaughn in a butterfly race. Vaughn slipped by the Gettysburg first-year in the final 50 yards of the 100 fly race and finished in 57.91. Jenkins' time of 58.84 was good enough for the fifth-fastest by a Bullet ever. Jenkins also finished runner-up in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.68.
Crilly led a 2-3-4 finish by the Bullets in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.44. Senior
Maggie Morehouse (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) and sophomore
Katherine Sears (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown East) finished third (1:58.44) and fourth (1:58.48), respectively. Sears also came through with a third-place effort in the 500 free (5:14.46).
Kosko and Crilly went 3-4 in the 50 free with times of 24.91 and 25.09, respectively, while sophomore
Sydney Jaramillo (Woolwich Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) placed fourth in the 200 IM (2:12.67).
Gettysburg is off from competition until a home dual against Mary Washington on Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. The Bullets travel to Barbados for a training trip in early January.
