HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's basketball team (4-3, 1-2 CC) could not withstand a test from Tri-Co rival Swarthmore (4-1, 2-0 CC) on Tuesday night inside Gooding '84 Arena, falling to the Garnet by a final of 55-45. The loss snapped a string of Haverford dominance in the all-time series, as the Fords maintained a 10-game win streak over Swarthmore coming into the contest.

Cortlyn Morris continued her torrid start to the season with a 17-point outing, adding three blocks on the defensive side of the ball. Kayla Robinson pulled down a career-best 15 rebounds, notching eight points as the Fords maintained a sizable 42-36 advantage on the glass. Ally Landau (12 points, seven rebounds) was also an impressive performer on Tuesday. Dana Bandurick was a force for the Garnet, finishing with a game-best 26 points and 13 rebounds to go with four steals, four blocks, and three assists in an all-around performance for the visitors.

The Fords began the contest on a 8-4 run, eventually pulling ahead to 16-10 behind a Morris layup with 1:06 left in the quarter. A 7-2 Swarthmore spurt put the Garnet within one as Katelyn Becker drilled a trey with 8:55 left in the half. T Sallie connected from beyond the arc to briefly hand the lead to Swarthmore, but Robinson finished a layup with under three minutes to go to knot things at 24-24.

The two sides were knotted at 26-26 entering the halftime intermission, but Sallie started the third with a triple to fire up the Swarthmore bench. The two sides didn't find much separation until the fourth quarter, when the Garnet unleashed an 8-0 run to take command of the contest at 45-36 with 6:30 to go.

Lauren Howard finished a layup to stop that run, and Landau connected to trim the lead to just five with 5:48 remaining in regulation. Bandurick was successful from the free-throw line, ahead of a layup from Landau that trimmed the lead back to four. A 9-3 run to finish the contest helped the visitors maintain their advantage, with Alyssa Hayashi scoring the final four Swarthmore points from the charity stripe.

Hayashi and Sallie each notched 10 points for the visitors, with Hayashi adding a perfect 6-6 effort from the free-throw line.

Haverford will face a quick turnaround, heading to Collegeville for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff at Ursinus on Thursday night. The contest serves as a prelude to a Saturday trip to Lancaster to do battle with the Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall in doubleheader action with the men's team.
