The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team participated in both the Penn Relays and the Paul Kaiser Classic this weekend as the team gears up to defend its Centennial Conference crown next weekend.

Meet Highlights:
• The Blue Jays opened day one of the meet with
Tasha Freed and
Lauren Jacob all but punching their tickets to the NCAA Championships in the steeplechase. Freed finished 20
th with a time of 10:46.36 while Jacob finished in 22
nd, crossing the line in 10:48.73. Jacob has cut at least 20 seconds off her time in each of her last three races this season as she set a new PR in the event as well. Both times currently rank in the top-10 in the nation.
• The JHU 4x400 team of
Hannah Miller,
Hailey Sheppell,
Kenz Wilkinson and
Alexandra Damron crossed the finish line in fourth in the 4x400 Centennial/MAC relay as they completed the event in 4:03.63.Â

Caelyn Reilly ran a sub-17 minute 5k for the first time in her career as the junior also all but secured herself a bid to NCAAs with her 19
th place finish as she completed the race in 16:57.69 to now rank in the top-10 in the country in the event.
Emily Stahl cut five seconds off her previous personal best time in the event as she finished in 17:23.43 while
Samantha Levy completed the race in 17:34.32.

Therese Olshanski crossed the line in seventh with a mark of 9:21.84.

Johns Hopkins Winners:
• Maya Hammonds won the long jump with a new Centennial Conference and JHU record mark of 5.93m. The leap currently tops in the nation.
Other Meet Highlights:
• Hammonds notched a fifth-place finish in the 200-meters as she clocked in with a time of 25.83 and also earned a third-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.63m. The senior also notched a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.83.
• In the shot put, freshman
Kelsey Neff finished in eighth with a throw of 11.70m.
• The pole vault saw
Sophia Cortazzo and
Annie Gutierrez register marks of 3.30m to finish fifth. Â
