SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Competing on the road against hosts Skidmore (2-1), the Haverford College men's lacrosse team (2-2) was impressive early on before the Thoroughbreds pulled away late with three unanswered goals in the final period to take a 10-7 victory at Wachenheim Field.

Sean Mowatt-Larssen was the only Haverford player to tally multiple goals, as he netted twice while Blake Brinster, Andrew Arth, Matt Richards, Gray Pollock, and Jonathan Moon each tallied goals of their own. Devin Lefkowitz led the way with eight ground balls, while Eric Dahlberg added three caused turnovers to four ground balls. In between the pipes, Colby Freeman registered nine saves for the Fords.

Haverford went down 2-0 in the opening three minutes after goals from John Sveen and Charlie Kessler. However, Haverford then rattled off four unanswered goals in the opening period. Arth got things started with a man-up goal with nine minutes remaining. Moon's goal came with six minutes remaining, knotting the score. Pollock and Mowatt-Larssen both scored to give the Fords a 4-2 lead going into the second period.

The second stanza started with Skidmore putting two goals in the back of the net to tie the game. However, Haverford answered right back after Brinster's goal to regain the lead. The period ended with the score tied at five after Skidmore's Gastonguay scored with 2:25 remaining in the half.

Skidmore again got the opening goal of the period after a Charlie McFadden goal with 13:15 remaining. Mowatt-Larssen answered back with a goal with the assist going to Richards. After that, neither team was able to distance themselves from one another. Haverford retook the lead after Richards scored on an assist from Evan Wolpert. Still, once again, Skidmore answered right back with a goal to tie the game at seven going into the final stanza.

In the fourth period, the Thoroughbreds took control of the game. With Haverford unable to find the back of the net, Skidmore rattled off three goals in the final ten minutes to claim the win. Haverford finished just 9-20 on faceoffs but outshot Skidmore 40-28, showcasing some offensive firepower in the attacking third.

Skidmore's Collin Kuester can take credit for stopping the Fords as he finished the game with 17 saves to his ledger.

Haverford next continues its trip through New York State, heading to take on Ithaca in a midweek contest on Tuesday. The game is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
