SWARTHMORE, Pa.—No. 14 Swarthmore College Men's Swimming rebounded quickly following its Friday night loss by routing the visiting Ursinus College Bears 149.5-108.5 on Saturday afternoon.
Jeremy Rockaway, Alec Lawless and Horace Shew each collected first place in a pair of races. Alec Menzer locked up a win in the 500 free, beating his brother from Ursinus, Jake Menzer by 10 seconds, and added two second-place finishes.
Swarthmore dropped the opening 200 medley relay to the visiting Bears. After Ursinus took the 1000 free as well, Swarthmore and Ursinus had a tie for the top spot in the 200 free. Swarthmore's Ben Freeman and Ursinus' Jake Menzer both touched the pad at the exact same moment for a time of 1:43.80.
Shew found his first win in the 100 breast with a time of 59.73 seconds. He would later take the 200 breast as well, completing that race in 2:10.71. Luke Wang finished in second in both of those heats.
Jeremy Rockaway won the 200 fly with a time of 1:56.86 and also won the 200 IM, finishing just under two minutes.
Sophomore Alec Lawless sprinted to victory in both the 50 and 100 free races.
Swarthmore closed out the meet with a win in the 400 free relay (3:10.12).
The Garnet face off with Washington College on the road on Nov. 16.
