Softball sweeps day two in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The softball team continued their winning spring trip with a triumphs over Penn State-Harrisburg and Gettysburg on Wednesday.

The Panthers started the day with a win against Penn State-Harrisburg.  The Panthers jumped ahead 3-0 after three innings and later led 4-0 before Harrisburg rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Kayla Zimmerman sparked the Panthers from the leadoff position with a 3-for-4 game with two runs scored.

Olivia Shipman was 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI.

Deidra Holzhauer started in the circle and threw three scoreless innings.

Holzhauer yielded the pitching duties to Maegan Stone for four innings.  Stone gave up three runs, one earned, and was credited with the win.

Greenville won game two against Gettysburg when Jaclyn Belzer reached on an error in the bottom of the seventh and Katie Myers scored the winning run.

Deidra Holzhauer went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBI, and a home run.

Hannah Hoffman was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Kendall Farr pitched two innings of relief and took the win.

The Panthers (5-2) play St. Joseph and Lycoming on Thursday.
