LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The prospect of having to contend with an immense field on Saturday at the Lock Haven Invite did not seem to hinder the Red and White as Dickinson took third-place in the 34-team field that had institutions from all three divisions represented.
Teddy Mercer was the first Dickinson runner to complete the Crimson 8k race taking 26th with a time of 25:21.3.
Michael Loalbo and
Alexander Kane crossed the line within two spots of each other finishing in 32nd (25:30.2) and 34th (25:34.4) respectively.
Matthew Dietrick was not too far off their pace landing in 37th at 25:38.4. The next Devil runner crossed in 43rd as
Brock Overlander posted a time of 25:47.6, while
Romario Cruz also finished inside the Top-50 hitting the stripe in 25:50.1 for 47th. Nolan Meinke (26:24.9),
William Tripp (26:27.2), and
James Marks (26:30.2) also competed in the 290-runner event.
Cornell took the team title with 20 points, followed by Wayne State (48), Dickinson (137), Messiah (139), and Slippery Rock (160) in the Top-5. Cornell's Perry Mackinnon won the individual crown with a time of 24:15.1.
The Red and White had enough athletes to put another complete team together in the White 6k race taking fourth-place honors in that 14 school lineup.
Charlie Miske earned a Top-10 spot with a sixth-place result thanks to a time of 26:42.5.
Benjamin Moseman finished inside the Top-20 hitting the line in 27:40.1 for 17th.
Matthew Gareau and
Ethan Katz posted marks of 27:54.5 (26th) and 28:09.6 (33rd) respectively.
Trevor Richwine (36th - 28:16.0),
Chris Lozano (40th - 28:24.5),
James Masterson (55th - 28:48.6),
Max Collins (57th - 28:52.1), and
Evan Feldman (60th - 29:02.9) all landed inside the Top-60.
Coltin Albitz (29:47.9) and
Matthew Foote (31:36.9) also ran in the race.
The Top-5 in the White race featured Wayne State (15), Washington & Jefferson (87), Lock Haven (105), Dickinson (105), and St. Vincent (126).
