SWARTHMORE, Pa.--Senior
Mark Fallati became the fifth player in Swarthmore College Men's Tennis history to reach 100 career wins in Saturday's 9-0 victory versus Gettysburg College.
Fallati is 16 wins shy of the program record held by Shep Davidson '86.
Win No. 99 for Fallati came in a doubles match with fellow senior
Josh Powell. They won 8-2 in the No. 1 spot. In second doubles, the freshmen duo of
John Lathrop and
Thibault Vernier won 8-3. Freshman
Jiung Jung and senior
Blake Oetting picked up an 8-1 victory in the third spot.
No Garnet player was forced to a third set in singles as Fallati (No. 1), Vernier (No. 2), junior
Simon Vernier (No. 3), Lathrop (No. 4), senior
Yosuke Higashi (No. 5) and junior
James Hahn (No. 6) all came away with wins.
Swarthmore, currently 8-9 overall, has now won all four of its Centennial Conference matches 9-0.
Its next match is in Chestertown, Md., against Washington College on Tuesday.
