Men’s Tennis Falls at Catholic

Cardinals top Bullets 7-2

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Junior Harrison Brown (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) and sophomore Alec Shalk (Milton, Del./Smyrna) won their singles matches in a 7-2 loss to Catholic University on Saturday.

Catholic had to work to complete a doubles sweep as LaChance and Rau pushed their foes to a tiebreaker before falling 8-7 (7-2) at third doubles.
 
The Cardinals clinched the team decision with two wins to open singles play before the Bullets jumped on the scoreboard. Brown made the most of his first singles action of 2019-20, bouncing back from an opening-set loss to win the final two frames 6-2 and 10-7. Shalk followed up with a dominating 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 for his first collegiate victory.
 
Where the Series Stands Now
Catholic recorded its first win over Gettysburg since 2005. The Bullets lead the all-time series 16-10.

Gettysburg closes the fall slate at York (Pa.) next Saturday, Sept. 28, at noon.
