CLERMONT, Fla. – The Haverford College softball team continued to roll with its second straight sweep in the Sunshine State. The Fords (5-3) took down Geneva by a 7-1 score behind three home runs in their first game on Thursday before scoring 10 runs during the sixth inning to defeat Westminster (Pa.) by a 17-2 score.

Ashley Sisto blasted two of the Fords' three home runs in the opening game against Geneva for the first two home runs of her career. Her first home run of the morning, a two-run blast, cleared the left field fence in the top of the third inning. That also scored Kaila Uyeda who in the previous at-bat kept the inning alive with a two-out infield single. Sisto added her second home run of the game in Haverford's final at-bat with a three-run home run. That long ball over the centerfield fence scored Carley Parsons and Uyeda as they started the inning with back-to-back singles.

Abby Marquis joined the launch party in Haverford's half of the sixth with her first career home run. Parson's shot was of the two run variety when it landed over the left centerfield fence and scored Emma Souter who had previously reached base on a fielder's choice. Marquis joined Sisto and Uyeda as the two Fords to finish with multiple hits in the contest.

Emily Reinstadtler picked up the win in the circle as she allowed just five hits over seven innings to run her season record to 2-1. She did not allow a hit until the third inning when a leadoff triple came around to score for the only run the Fords allowed. Reinstadtler has now tossed a complete game during both of her starts in the first week of the season.

The hit party really got going for the Fords against Westminster (Pa.) as Haverford pounded out 20 base knocks over the six-inning run-rule victory. Seven different players tallied multiple hits in that contest, highlighted by a 4-for-5 game at the plate from Marybeth Stone who also drove in three runs while scoring two others. Souter and Reinstadtler both went 3-for-4 at the plate as each scored three runs while Souter added two RBI. Nikki Kingsland, Nicole Swisher, Temma Levis, and Uyeda also had multi-hit contests.

During Haverford's biggest inning of the day, the Fords recorded 10 hits and sent 16 batters to the plate while building a solid 7-2 lead into a 17-2 runaway. The inning started with six straight Fords reaching base and 13 of the first 14 overall. Marquis and Levis both had extra-base hits in the frame, but mainly it was station-to-station baseball as the Titans used three different pitchers before finally retiring the Fords.

In addition to her work in the batter's box, Levis notched her second win of the season by scattering three hits over her six-inning complete game. The Fords' senior struck out six and did not walk a batter. She retired the first 11 batters she faced and set down the side in order four times throughout the contest to record her third complete game of the year.

Softball will wrap up its week in Florida on Friday with two more games at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex. Haverford has added a game against Alfred at 9:15 a.m. and will follow that up with its regularly scheduled contest against DeSales at 11:30 a.m.
