• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's basketball team rolled to an 81-56 win at Gettysburg Wednesday night in Centennial Conference action.
 
How it Happened
• After some back-and-forth early, the Blue Jays strung together a 10-2 run to push out to a 19-8 lead at the 12:09-mark. Senior Michael Gardner and junior Harry O'Neil fueled the run with a combined eight points. The Bullets used a quick six-point spurt to pull back within five just three minutes later.
• Freshman Chid Nnake hit a bucket in the paint to kick start a 13-0 run as the Blue Jays stormed out to an 18-point lead. Sophomore Joey Kern, Gardner and sophomore Conner Delaney drained three straight triples to power the run. O'Neil then capped it with an old-fashioned three-point play and Hopkins led 32-14 with 5:46 to go in the half.
• Gettysburg kept battling and trimmed the deficit to 13 at the 2:56-mark. However, senior Noah Ralby then sandwiched a pair of fast-break layups around a three from Gardner and just like that the lead was 20. Alec Warren had the final say of the half for the Bullets, hitting from downtown to make it a 41-24 game at the break.
• The Blue Jays came out of the half firing, scoring the first 10 points in the opening five minutes and their lead ballooned to 27. That run put the game away as the Bullets could get no closer than 16 over the final 15 minutes.
 
What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 39-52 all-time against Gettysburg and has now won four straight in the series. The Blue Jays have won back-to-back games at Bream Gym for the first time since 2012.
• The 25-point win is the largest margin of victory in the series since a 92-51 Hopkins win on January 14, 1998 at Goldfarb Gym. In addition, it is the Blue Jays' biggest win over the Bullets at Gettysburg in series history.
 
Inside the Box Score
• Delaney led four Blue Jays in double figures with a game-high 17 points, while also handing out four assists and swiping a pair of steals. Gardner added 14, with 12 of those coming from downtown, and O'Neil scored 13 while senior Joey Fitzpatrick chipped in 10.
• Chris Jack was the lone Bullet in double figures as he finished with 10 points.
