COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's indoor track and field team opened up their 2022-23 campaign on Friday evening with a solid fourth-place result at the Bow Tie Invitational hosted by fellow Centennial Conference foe Ursinus College at the Floy Lewis Bakes Field House.
Sprints
Three Devils took part in the 200m dash with
Matthew Greenley hitting the line in 25.38 for 20th. First-year
Michael Glass put forth a strong effort as well with his 26.13 earning him 28th, while Tyler Erdman took 46th (29.09).
In his first collegiate indoor meet
Trevor Richwine earned the top-spot during the 400m dash with a time of 52.64, followed by
Luke Sternick in fourth at 55.19 and Erdman in 14th (1:04.09).
Distance
Nolan Meincke was the top finishing DC runner in the 800m run taking fourth in 2:04.12. Richwine also secured a Top-10 slot thanks to a time of 2:06.17 being good for sixth. The pair of
Chris Lozano and
Matthew Gareau clocked in at 2:12.62 (14th) and 2:12.72 (15th).
Meincke then continued his solid day by picking up his first win of the indoor campaign during the mile run with a time of 4:27.13, while
Coltin Albitz claimed a Top-10 spot in ninth at 4:42.91. Gareau earned a Top-20 slot with a time of 4:54.78 (17th).
Three Devils occupied eighth through tenth in the 5000m run as
Romario Cruz led the group with a time of 15:42.35. The pair of
Matthew Dietrick and
Alexander Kane posted marks of 15:59.05 and 15:59.34 respectively.
Relays
The unit of
Cole Boback, Meincke, Richwine, and Sternick clocked in at 3:44.60 during the 4x400m to take sixth. The other Devils team comprised of
Kelby Bishop-Scioli,
Ethan Katz,
James Masterson, and
Benjamin Moseman landed in 13th thanks to a 3:58.64.
Field
Junior
Ethan Hart began his season strong with a seventh-place finish during the weight throw with his second toss being his best at 13.25m. Two other Devils were in the Top-20 with Grant Deshishku grabbing 14th (11.52m), while Lamar Ludy took 17th (10.01m).
A trio of DC athletes took part in the long jump with
Travis Dobbins pacing the group at 6.31m (4th), followed by
Kieran Santos in eighth (5.96m) and
Michael Glass in ninth (5.93m).
Dobbins continued a strong showing in the jumping events with a second-place result in the high jump clearing 1.90m, while Santos eclipsed 1.75m to land in a four-way tie for fifth.
Team Scores
The host Ursinus won the meet with 101 points, followed in the Top-5 by Moravian (96), Stockton (95), Dickinson (57.50), and Haverford (45).

Next on the Track
Dickinson will now take a long break for the holidays as the Red and White will not return to action until Saturday, January 21st for the Moravian University Invitational in Bethlehem. The meet is slated to begin at 10am.
