Sean Thompson (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and senior
Dan Ebert (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) each posted pins to help Gettysburg College score a 37-11 non-conference victory at Delaware Valley University Saturday evening.
Gettysburg (4-2) jumped out to a 21-0 advantage over Delaware Valley (1-2). The Bullets scored forfeits at 133 and 149 and Thompson seized control of a close match against Russell Benson with a takedown to set up a second-period pin at 141. Freshman
Ray Martin (Downingtown, Pa./West Chester Henderson) out-scored Chris Richardson 5-1 in the third period with a reversal, takedown, and riding-time point to clinch an 8-4 decision at 157.
After a technical fall by the Aggies at 165, senior
Colin Kowalski (Derwood, Md./Georgetown Prep) scored the first 13 points on the way to a 14-1 major decision at 174 pounds. The senior improved to 22-2 on the year and scored his 93rd career victory.
Ebert made short work of his opponent at 184 pounds, scoring a takedown a minute into the bout and rolling his foe's shoulders to the mat for a pin. Delaware Valley scored its second win via fall at 197 before a forfeit to
Paul Triandafilou (Derwood, Md./Georgetown Prep) at heavyweight.
Gettysburg heads to Elizabethtown College for a dual next Friday at 7 p.m.
