Gettysburg, Pa-Â Several Bullets finished with top 10 finishes to lead the Gettysburg College women's track and field team to a fourth place finish at its own Mason-Dixon Invitational on Saturday.
The Bullets finished with a team score of 98.5.
Lily Morrell (Frederick, MD) finished in 2nd place in the 400 M Hurdles with a personal best of 1:07. Morrell also helped anchor the women's 4x100 Meter Relay of
Lauren DiOttavio,
Anna Lopez, and
Julia Piness to a season best time of 51.93 for 5th place.Â
Kathrin O'Brien took her 3
rd straight win as the sole participant in the 10K finishing with a time of 39:57.87.
Franny Proto finished 6th in the 400m with a time of 105.17, a new personal best. Rounding out the top 10 in the 400m for the Bullets was
Anna Imrie, 105.63 for 7th,
Julia Wert for 8th with a time of 106.15 and
Emma Bernstein finished in 107.66 for 10th.
A trio of Bullets also finished in the Top 10 for the 1500m. Leading the way with a personal best, and season best time for the Bullets was
Keara Skae, 5.12.45 for 6th place.
Franny Proto finished 8th with a new personal best time of 5.13.87 and
Emily Trout finished 10th with a time of 5.15.11.
Other top performers on the day include
Lauren DiOttavio who placed 5th in the 100m in 13.11 and 7th in the 200m at 27.50.Â
Ashlyn Booher crossed the line for the 5k in 10
th place, finishing with a time of 20:30.90.
Julia Piness finished 8
th in 18.61 for the 100 hurdles.
The Bullets had strong showings in the field events.  Senior,
Jess Alessi (Schoharie, NY/Ichabod Crane)Â Â finished 1st in the Hammer throw with a new personal best and Bullets season best throw of 42.35m and 6th place in discus with 31.80m throw.Â
Katherine Mangione threw the javelin into 2
nd place with 39.90, also a new personal best, and the discus into 8
th (29.94m).
Alexa Schauder also had two top 10 places with a 7
th place finish in high jump with 1.42m and 3
rd in pole vault at 2.75m.
Other Top field performances include Senior
Anna Pienkos who took the 3
rd spot in high jump with 1.47m.
Cassidy Callahan and
Caitlin Yap pole vaulted into 1
st (2.90m) and 10
th (2.75m) place spots while
Olivia Taylor triple jumped 9.56m in the triple jump.
Holly Ferrara took another javelin win this season with a throw of 40.06m.
The Bullets next competition will be on Saturday, April 30 a the Paul Kaiser Classic, hosted by Shippensburg University.Â
