ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa.  – Junior Hannah Fireman (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) sits atop of the leaderboard as she carded a 81 while the team is tied for first on the opening round of the McDaniel College Spring Invitational at The Bridges Golf Club Saturday.
 
As a team, Gettysburg shot a 344 and holds a tie for first with Stevenson University followed by St. John Fisher College in third (379). Susquehanna University, McDaniel College, and Dickinson College are also competing this weekend.
 
Fireman opened up her spring campaign with a 81 (+9) while fellow classmate Katie McCarthy (Westlake, Ohio/Hathaway Brown School) is one stroke behind in a second place tie with Laura Rentz from Stevenson (82).
 
Junior Skylar Frankiewicz (Concord, Mass./Concord Carllisle) is the third Bullet player to be in the top-five as she is tied for fourth after carding an 85.
 
Freshman Cameron D'Amica (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley) and senior Gillian Marini (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) rounded out Gettysburg's lineup with a 96 and 101, respectively. D'Amica is currently 15th entering the final round and Marini is 19th.
 
The Bullets return to the course tomorrow at 8:20 a.m. for Sunday's final round.
