STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Swarthmore College Women's Track and Field had two student-athletes represent them at the Villanova Invitational on Saturday.
Clay Conley and
Adria Retter competed in the shot-put event. Conley finished the event in second place with a school record of 14.18 meters (46'-6.25"). This mark, which also broke the Centennial Conference record, ranks the senior second in NCAA Division III in the shot put event. Conley held the school and conference record of 45'-10.5", set in 2019.
Retter finished the event in sixth place with a career-best toss of 12.38 meters (40'-7.5"). Both throws by Conley and Retter keep them 1-2 amongst all Centennial Conference throws.
Conley also competed in the weight throw in which the senior finished in seventh place. The best throw for Conley came in at a mark of 15.57 meters (51'-1"). That mark keeps Conley ranked first in the Centennial in the weight throw event.
The meet, held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, featured programs from Division I, II, and III. Some of the programs included Long Island University, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Delaware State University, and host Villanova University.
Swarthmore is back in action on Saturday as they travel to Collegeville, Pa. to compete in the Frank Colden Invitational. The meet, hosted by Ursinus, is set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
