GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's tennis team closed its fall slate with a 6-3 victory over Division II Shepherd University on Monday.
Gettysburg (2-0) opened with a pair of wins in doubles. Junior
Kevin Maier (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) and freshman
Thomas Gilio (New Canaan, Conn.) picked up an 8-0 decision at No. 2, while sophomore
Jacob Meehan (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) and freshman
Henry Pletcher (Hanover, N.H.) also laid down a bagel at the third flight.
The Bullets wrapped up the victory with straight-set wins at the bottom four singles positions. Maier won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3, Gilio won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4, and Pletcher won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5. Freshman
Aidan Kennedy (Danville, Pa.) scored his first collegiate win with a 6-1, 6-1 decision at the sixth flight.
Gettysburg resumes play next March.
