The Muhlenberg men's basketball team twice cut in to large DeSales leads but could not complete the comeback and lost, 76-67, in its last game of 2018.
The Bulldogs (6-4) scored the first seven points of the game and led by as many as 15 points in the first half. The Mules (5-6) chipped away and closed to within four three times early in the second half, the last at 47-43.
DeSales responded with a 17-2 run to open up its biggest lead, 64-45, with nine minutes left. Behind three three-pointers from junior
Matt Gnias, Muhlenberg got to within six at the two-minute mark but did not score again for the rest of the game.
