HAVERFORD, Pa. - The No. 36 Haverford College women's tennis team (8-5, 3-2 CC) blanked visiting Muhlenberg (5-6, 0-5 CC) by a 9-0 final on Wednesday afternoon, allowing just two total games in singles play after a dominating swing through doubles competition at the Bramall Courts.

The third doubles pairing of Annie Barrett and Abbey Russano notched a key win over Stefanie Wolf and Jessica Rosen, blanking the Mules' team by an 8-0 final. The second doubles squad of Liv Pindzola and Mimi Lavin dispatched Rose Glantz and Malin Hermanson, as that pairing was also making its debut together in 2021-22. The number one doubles pairing of Summer Williams and Anne Tobin made quick work of Caroline Armknecht and Sophia Framm, taking an 8-2 win. This was the first pairing of the year for the two. Overall this season, Haverford is 27-21 in doubles play to begin the 2021-22 season.

Moving into singles, Barrett improved to 2-0 at the fifth flight, not surrendering a single game to Hermanson. The match was then clinched by Williams at the fourth flight, with Williams also not allowing a single game to her opponent as she improved to 2-0 at the fourth flight. Russano blanked Framm by consecutive 6-0 finals for her fourth win at the No. 2 flight, and Ellie Esterowitz similarly did not allow a game at No. 3, her second win at the third flight this year. Lavin made her debut on the top line, and looked strong to the tune of a 6-2, 6-0 win over Caroline Armknecht, and Pindzola then saw her second action of the dual match season in a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Rosen at the sixth flight.

The Fords have appeared in all but once Centennial Conference tournament since 2009 and will look to continue that streak in 2022 with a chance to add another CC win to its total with a trip to Dickinson to take on the Red Devils. The contest is slated to begin at approximately 1 p.m. in Carlisle.
