MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Swarthmore College Men's Outdoor Track & Field began its 2019 season at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational from Thursday to Saturday.
Senior
Jared Hunt became Swarthmore's record-holder in the outdoor shot put with a toss of 15.53 meters, taking first place of 53 competitors in the event. He also set the Garnet indoor shot put record during his exception winter season. Hunt's throw at the Shamrock Invite has him slotted at No. 2 in all of Division III in the shot put.
Freshman
Ethan Rothenberg had a solid outdoor collegiate debut as he took fifth in the mile with a 4:26.40 finish.
Senior
Daniel Belkin took seventh in the high jump by clearing a bar at 1.83 meters (6 feet).
Swarthmore's next meet is the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University on March 29 at 3 p.m.
