Collin Wainwright moved up to second in program history with his mark in the hammer throw at the Millersville Metrics.
The Colonial Relays
The McDaniel men's outdoor track team traveled back to the College of William & Mary for the Colonial Relays for day two of the meet. The men's team grabbed one new school record, one new top ten entry, and two top five finishes.
The 4x1500 relay team of Freshman Jack Sears, Sophomore Anders Madsen, Junior Nick Raumann, and Freshman Jack Reiser set the new school record in the event running a time of 16:52.46 and finishing 18th. They broke the previous set 8 years ago ran by Peter Merkel, Jim Heilman, Chris Jones, and John Alexander, their time was 17:15.85
Senior Wyatt Farace ran a time of 34:24.61 in the 10,000 meter run finishing 24th. This time will rank Farace sixth all-time for the program, and qualified him for the Centennial Conference Championship. The 4x100 relay team of Junior Tyren Proctor, Oral-Anthony Coleman, Jeremiah Maxwell, and Nick Razze placed fifth running a time of 43.10. The 4x200 of Coleman, Maxwell, Nick Razze, and Anthony Razze would also finish fifth running a time of 1:30.49.
The 4x400 team of Maxwell, Anthony Razze, Junior Tyler Richardson, and Nick Razze would finish 13th with a time of 3:23.74.
In the 110 meter hurdles Junior Kyle Hubbard ran a time of 16.46 placing 20th. Proctor followed in 21st with a time of 17.33.
The sprint medley relay team of Hubbard, Anthony Razze, Reiser, and Richardson placed 14th running a time of 3:54.51.
The men's team will next compete at Gallaudet University for the Bison Classic on Saturday April 8th.
The Millersville Metrics
The McDaniel men's outdoor track team went to Millersville University for the Millersville metrics. The team grabbed one new program top ten entries, along with six new Conference Championship qualifiers.
Senior Collin Wainwright placed 17th with a throw of 40.36 meters in the hammer throw. This mark moves him up to second in program history and qualified him for the Centennial Conference Championship. Sophomore Jacob Graham placed 25th with a throw of 34.06 meters. Junior Jake Conklin placed 26th throwing 29.88 meters. Conklin also placed 27th in javelin throwing 36.35 meters.
Freshman Christian Homer placed fourth in long jump, he would jump 6.33 meters. Sophomore Alex Brown jumped 5.83 meters to finish 16th. Freshman Christian Taylor placed 19th with a jump of 5.70 meters. Taylor qualified for the Centennial Conference Championship with his mark.
Homer would also place fifth in the triple jump with his jump of 12.80 meters. Junior John Geniti would place sixth in pole vault jumping 3.75 meters. This mark will qualify him for the Centennial Conference Championship.
In the 100 meter dash Alex Brown lead the team running 11.67 placing 33rd. Freshman Christian Taylor placed 44th running 11.95. Senior Malachi Thompson ran 12.02 placing 46th. Taylor and Thompson both qualified for the Conference Championship in the 100.
The 4x100 relay team of Homer, Brown, Taylor, and Thompson ran a time of 44.80, placing fourth. The 4x400 relay of Junior John Geniti, Brown, Junior Braden Fink, and Sophomore Sean Irwin placed ninth running 3:50.48.
Brown placed 15th in high jump, jumping a hight of 1.73 meters. Taylor would jump 1.63 meters placing 19th. Taylor will qualify for the centennial conference championship with this mark.
Irwin lead the men in the 1500 meter running 4:45.34 and finishing 34th. Damontae Gifford threw 10.45 meters in shot put to place 30th.
The men's team will next compete at the Bison Classic hosted by Gallaudet University on Saturday April 8th.
