The Muhlenberg wrestling team opened the new year by facing two nationally ranked teams at The College of New Jersey. The Mules fell to No. 15 TCNJ, 37-14, and No. 18 New York University, 38-6.

Five different wrestlers were responsible for Muhlenberg's five wins in the two matches.

Against TCNJ, junior Dylan Schwartz picked up his 15th win of the season with a 10-4 decision at 165, and senior Gennaro Cerminara notched his team-leading eighth pin of the season late in the first period. Junior Scott Schaeffer (pictured above) built a 20-4 lead in the second period to close out the match with his second career technical fall.

Junior Austin Sherman (141) and freshman Angelo Mahaffey (157) each won by decision against NYU, with Sherman recording his team-leading 18th win of the season.
