By matching scores of 3-2, the Muhlenberg softball team split its first home doubleheader of the season with Oneonta.

Allyson Sweeney plated all three runs for the Mules (11-3) in the opener, bringing in freshman
Sarah Karmazyn with a sac fly to right in the first inning and sending a two-out, two-run single to left in the second. Sweeney has plated three runs in two of her three multi-RBI games this season. Her single in the second inning capped a season-opening 13-game hitting streak, she has reached base in all 14 games.

Sophie Chong (pictured above) picked up the win, her third of the season, by striking out three. It was her first complete game of the year.

Cora Bridgers didn't allow a hit through the first three innings, until the Red Dragons (5-7) scored three in the top of the fourth of the nightcap. The Mules' offense loaded the bases in the third and fifth innings before senior
Kristina Qualben plated two with a bases-loaded single through the right side in the bottom of the sixth.

Genna Cicchetti singled to lead off the seventh before her pinch runner, sophomore
Nicole Atkins, reached as far as third.

Cicchetti and Qualben each had a pair of hits in the night cap, following up two-hit outings from Karmazyn and junior
Sarah Schubert in the opener. Qualben and Karmazyn each have five mutli-hit games this year, while Cicchetti and Schubert each have multiple hits in four game.
