Women’s Lacrosse Wins First-Ever Meeting With Cabrini

Three different players registered a hat trick to lead the Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team to an 18-11 win over Cabrini in the programs' first-ever meeting.

The Mules (6-2) held a 10-8 halftime advantage, before outscoring the Cavaliers, 8-3, over the final 30 minutes. Cabrini scored the first goal of the second half to pull within a goal until senior Emma Carmody, junior Gabriella Crivelli and freshman Madeline Dill all found the back of the net within a 1:32 span for a 13-9 Muhlenberg lead with 24:53 to go. Cabrini would get no closer than three the rest of the way.

Sophomore Taliah Carson opened the scoring at 27:48 of the first half, only to be followed 20 seconds later by classmate Lauren Sammarro. The Mules held a 3-0 lead before the hosts took their only lead of the day at 4-3. Carmody's second tally of the day with 11:22 to go in the first half put the Muhlenberg in front for good at 6-5.

Carmody and Crivelli (pictured above) were joined by junior Victoria Friedel as the Mules' three-goal scorers. After nine two-goal games in her career, Crivelli's hat trick marks her first at the collegiate level. Carmody (19) and Friedel (15) each now have more goals this season than they did their entire careers prior to the start of the season.

Sammarro finished with her third multi-goal game of the season, while freshman Madeline Dill found the back of the net twice for the second time in as many games.

Friedel made her presence known all over the field, leading the team in both ground balls and draw controls. Her five ground balls are a career high, while her five draw controls match her career high.

Freshman Michaela Mosher corralled a career-best found ground balls, matching Crivelli's total. She, along with Sammarro and senior Melissa Rudberg, caused two turnovers. Senior Caroline Dolan led the team with three caused turnovers.
