SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Women's Track & Field returned to action at the Coach I and Lions Invitationals. The Coach I Invitational took place at Franklin and Marshall College, while Lions Indoor Invitational took place at the 168th Street Armory in New York City.
At the Coach I Invite, the Garnet competed in the weight throw and shot put events.
Adria Retter led the way with a third place finish in the shot put and a fourth place finish in the weight throw. In the shot put, the junior had a best mark of 12.68 meters (41'-6") and a mark of 13.75m (45'-11") in the weight throw.
Megan Bickford added a weight throw toss of 11.59 meters (38'-2"), while
Shay Downey had a mark of 11.29m (37'-4").
On the track at the Lions Indoor Invitational,
Nora Blodgett won the mile race. The senior won the event in a personal best time of 5:10.96 on the banked track. Madeline Farber finished in 15th place with a time of 5:39.06, while
Alina Irvine and
Cat Crochunis-Brown each added times of 5:48.55 and 5:53.60.
Rose Teszler crossed the finish line of the 800-meter run in 2:18.55.
Emma Novak added a mark of 2:28.15 in the same event. In the 3,000-meter race,
Charisma Hasan finished with a time of 11:48.56.
Krystle Boadi,
Gabby Johnson, Teszler and Kashynski teamed up for a time of 4:11.06 and a sixth place finish in the 4x400.
In the triple jump event,
Miranda Kashynski finished with a leap of 10.00 meters (32'-9.75").
Emily Trelstad recorded a third place finish in the high jump. The first-year leaped a collegiate best 1.61-meters (5'-3.25").
Swarthmore returns to the track next Saturday at the Villanova Invite. The meet is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
