Volleyball Sends Seniors Off with a Win

Gettysburg tops Dickinson 3-0 in season finale

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College volleyball team wrapped up the season with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-21) victory over Dickinson College in the final hurrah for the six seniors Saturday.

Match Summary
  • Set 1: Gettysburg controlled the opening set, jumping out to a 7-2 lead and leading 17-10 on a block by Conboy. Garison closed the win with a kill.
  • Set 2: The score was tied 9-9 on a kill by Morgan Biggs, but the Bullets rattled off the next six points, including three on attack errors by the Red Devils. The lead hit double-figures on another hitting error and an ace by junior Allie Stranick (Havertown, Pa./Merion Mercy) made it 22-11.
  • Set 3: Dickinson rallied from a three-point hole in the third set to jump in front 17-15. Kills by Fletcher and Garison formed part of a 5-0 run that put the Bullets back in front for good. Seniors played a hand in eight of Gettysburg's final 13 points, including back-to-back kills by Higgins to end the match.

  • Sequeira finished her career 16th in program history with 1,092 digs. Her 4.07 digs per set rates as the third-best career mark at Gettysburg.
