WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Washington and Lee wrestling team improved to 5-2 on the season by taking a trio of matches on Saturday at the Penn College Quad.
 
The Generals opened the day with a 35-12 victory over York College of Pennsylvania and then posted a 34-3 win over the host Wildcats.  W&L then concluded the day's action with a 22-18 victory over the University of Scranton.
 
Leading the way for the Blue & White were three wrestlers who each won all three of their matches.  First-year Mark Fasciocco (Southampton, Pa. / Germantown Academy) claimed all three of his bouts at 133 pounds, producing two wins by decision and one win by fall.  Junior 149-pounder Bryce Crew (St. Mary's, Ga. / Camden County) notched two wins by fall and added one more win by decision, while senior 165-pounder Shane Conners (Mount Airy, Md. / South Carroll) logged two wins by decision and another by technical fall.
 
Senior 184-pounder Rexx Hallyburton (Bishop, Ga. / Oconee County) wrestled matches against York and Scranton, going 2-0 with one win by decision and another by fall.
 
The Generals cruised to the wins over York and Penn College, but the Scranton match was tight until W&L pulled away late.  With the match tied 15-15, W&L seized control with wins at 184 and 197 pounds.  Hallyburton produced a 13-6 decision over Aidan McNally at 184 and sophomore Brad Basham (Burlington, Mass. / Buckingham Browne & Nichols) clinched the match with a 13-2 major decision over Jose Falcon at 197.
 
Washington and Lee will now break for the holidays before returning to action on December 29-30 at the Citrus Invitational in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
