Hounds’ Second Half Rally Falls Short at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer squad fell behind in the first five minutes and trailed 3-0 before a second half rally saw the Greyhounds closed within a goal, falling to host Dickinson College, 3-2, in non-conference action Friday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Red Devils netted two goals in the fifth minute, and Dickinson pushed the edge to 3-0 in the 25th minute on a penalty kick
  • Junior forward Zach Nicholas put the Hounds on the scoreboard in the 67th minute off of a pass from sophomore midfielder Hunter Shay
  • Moravian pulled within a goal in the 82nd minute as sophomore forward Ben Scary drove a low shot into the goal

Inside the Numbers

  • Nicholas' goal was his first of the season and second of his career while Scary netted his second goal of the year and third as a Greyhound
  • Shay was credited with his first career assist
  • Junior goalie Christian Beebe had two saves for the Hounds
  • The Blue and Grey had a 12-8 edge in shots and an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks
