SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's cross country team placed third overall out of eight teams in the three mile race at the Main Line Invite on Friday night.
Olivia Montini had another impressive showing as she crossed the finish line third overall behind a pair of runners from the University of Pennsylvania.
Rose Teszler and
Cat Crochunis-Brown also put together strong showings as they finished 16th and 25th, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montini crossed the finish line at 17:48.8 to place third overall and first among Division-III competitors. The first-year finished 17.3 seconds behind the leader, while beating the closest Division-III runner by 8.7 seconds. Montini finished the three mile course at a 5:56.3 mile pace and led for a significant portion of the race before she was passed late by two Penn runners.
- Teszler put together a 16th place finish with a time of 18:55.1. The senior placed fifth among the Division-III field as she finished at a 6:18.4 mile pace. Crochunis-Brown finished 25th overall with a time of 19:24.6. She set a new course personal record while running at a 6:28.2 pace.

Alina Irvine was 29th overall with a time of 19:34.7 for a 6:31.6 pace.
Maddie Farber and
Ella Shenkar ran together in a pack behind Irvine as they finished 32nd and 33rd, respectively. Farber set a new course personal record with a 19:49.7 effort, while Shenkar finished at 19:58.3.

Charisma Hasan rounded out the team's top seven finishers with a 40th place effort at 20:29.4.
Morgan Mouer and
Emily van Assendelftf finished closely behind with times of 20:41.5 and 20:42.0, respectively. Mouer finished 44th, while van Assendelftf was 45th.
