Game Notes

The Franklin & Marshall men's basketball team (8-7, 3-5 CC) looks to get back in the win column as it readies for two Centennial Conference games this week. The Diplomats travel to play No. 13 Johns Hopkins (12-3, 6-2 CC) Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. before returning to the Mayser Center Saturday to host Haverford (5-10, 3-5 CC) at 3:00 p.m.

Last Week

The Diplomats dropped two games last week to Gettysburg and McDaniel.

In the 69-68 thriller against McDaniel, Omar Nichols racked up 23 points while shooting 63.6 percent (7-of-11) from the field and 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from beyond the arc. Nichols knocked down a huge three-pointer to give the Diplomats a one-point advantage with 22 seconds left in the game. However, McDaniel responded with the game-winning jumper with four seconds on the clock to stun F&M. Read the full recap here.

Last Time

Franklin & Marshall hasn't beaten Johns Hopkins since the 2017-18 season, where the Diplomats used a big second half effort to beat the Blue Jays 65-59. F&M's all-time leading scorer Brandon Federici '18 led the game with 30 points in the contest. Trailing 40-25 at halftime, the Diplomats outscored the Blue Jays 40-19 to comeback and win the game. F&M and Haverford faced in early December with the Diplomats coming out victorious, 83-70. Four of the F&M starters finished in double-figures as Omar Nichols led the game with 23 points and five three-pointers. John Seidman ended his night with 17 points and seven rebounds. Johns Hopkins Team Preview

No. 13 JHU enters Wednesday's matchup on a two-game winning streak after defeating McDaniel and Ursinus. Johns Hopkins as a team ranks first in the conference in rebounding, averaging 43.5 per game while only allowing an average of 33.3 rebounds per contest. Tom Quarry and Carson James lead the Blue Jays in scoring, averaging 13.7 and 13.4 points per game, respectively.

Before the Fords take on F&M, Haverford hosts Muhlenberg Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Forward Nate Torres leads Haverford in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game. Guard Josh Love led the Fords in scoring in the matchup against F&M earlier this season with 14 points.
