Meet Highlights
- Gettysburg established an early lead by winning the 400 medley relay to open the meet. Freshman Lindsay Blake (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) put the Bullets out in front by a second following the backstroke, but Franklin & Marshall's relay squad overtook the host quartet heading into the final 100 yards. Freshman Mia Yancey (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) passed Julie McFadden in the final 25 yards and touched the wall in 4:03.53.
- Yancey was just getting started with two more individual wins coming later in the meet. She teamed with fellow first-year Ava Collin (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) for 1-2 finishes in both the 100 and 200 free races. In the 200, Yancey came in at 1:58.58 with Collin right behind at 1:59.80. Yancey once again topped her teammate in the 100-yard free with a time of 54.29. Collin, who also finished runner-up in the 50 free (25.22), clocked 55.04.
- Blake led dominant showings by the Bullets in both backstroke events. Gettysburg went 1-2-3 in the 100 and 200 with Blake turning in times of 1:00.71 and 2:12.14, respectively. Blake swept both backstroke races for the second consecutive meet. Sophomore Natalie Wisniewski (Summit, N.J./Summit) placed second in the 100 back (1:01.89) followed by sophomore Brooke Gardner (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) in third (1:02.72). In the 200 back, Gardner grabbed the No. 2 spot (2:12.80) with senior Megan Wojnar (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) grabbing third (2:14.30).
- Gettysburg swept both fly races with sophomore Morgan Krepp (Bethesda, Md./Ursuline Academy (Texas)) winning the 200 by over two seconds at 2:16.17 and sophomore Allison Yuan (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga) claiming the 100 fly in 1:00.99.
- Junior Lauren Manning (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) finished second in both long-distance freestyle races. She clocked 11:12.80 in the 1,000 and followed up with 5:28.97 in the 500, finishing behind Franklin & Marshall's Georgia May in both races.
