WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Dickinson women's swimming team continued their solid start to the season on Saturday by downing the host McDaniel College by a score of 54-36 at Harlow Pool.
Dickinson was the only team to compete in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of
Olivia Abbott-Havers,
Caroline Christianson, Bella Gerkin, and Isabel McGovern winning the event with a time of 1:56.17. The group of
Margot Armstrong,
Sarah McHenry,
Sarah Mulcahy, and
Norah Wilson took second at 2:00.13, while
Carrington Bowles,
Cate Lord, Isobell O'Connell, and
Margie Winter earned third in 2:05.61.
The Devils showed off a "one-two" first-year punch in the 1000-yard freestyle with Tori May and Emma Johnston posting times of 11:00.65 and 11:31.85 respectively.
Christianson grabbed an individual win during the 200-yard freestyle as she hit the wall in 2:05.73, which bested teammate Sydney Farling by seven seconds (2:12.79).
Abbott-Havers won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.62, while Lord finished in third at 29.60.
Caroline Wasielevski became the fourth different Devil to claim an individual title as she knocked off the field in the 200-yard individual medley by stopping the clock in 2:23.72. Gerkin also earned a podium spot finishing third at 2:34.65.
After taking second in the 1000-yard freestyle Johnston picked up a victory during the 100-yard butterfly thanks to hitting the wall in 1:00.99. Armstrong finished third in the event with a mark of 1:06.45.
McGovern claimed the win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.34.
McHenry and Wilson went one-two during the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:04.27 and 1:05.93 respectively.

Dickinson (3-1, 2-1 Centennial) will have their home opener next Saturday afternoon at 3pm when the Red and White welcome Lebanon Valley College and Wilkes University to the Clarke Aquatic Center inside the Kline Center.
