FT. MYERS, Fla. - Saint John's baseball dropped a pair of games, 6-5 and 11-5 in eight innings, to Haverford (Pa.) on Sunday, March 6.
SJU (2-4 overall) surrendered leads by allowing a run in the sixth and seventh innings of both games.
Game 1
The Johnnies broke a 2-2 tie in game one with back-to-back RBI triples from junior second baseman
Owen Dauk (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) and sophomore third baseman
Joe Becker (New Prague, Minn.) in the top of the fourth inning.
The Fords (2-2 overall) answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth, but Becker swung the lead back in SJU's favor with an RBI single in the sixth.
Haverford tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning and the first three batters reached to start the bottom of the seventh before the walk-off, sacrifice fly.
Junior lefty
Casey Trapp (Blaine, Minn./Centennial) allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits in the no-decision. He struck out four and walked one in five innings. Junior

Game 2
Haverford struck first with a single run in the top of the first inning, but Becker drove in two with a double and scored on a wild pitch to give SJU a 3-1 lead in the second.
The Fords tied the game at 3-3 with single runs in the third and fourth innings. A sac fly from Becker and a two-out, RBI single from junior first baseman
Max Nyrop (Alameda, Calif.) gave the home team a 4-2 lead.
HC scored single runs in the sixth and seventh to force extra innings, where it plated six in the top of the eighth.
Sophomore
Kody Dalen (Carver, Minn./Chanhassen) was tagged for five runs on 10 hits in the no-decision. He struck out six in seven innings. Freshman
Connor Hartley (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Rosemount) made his second collegiate appearance and took the loss, allowing five runs (three earned).
Nyrop led SJU's offense with four hits, while Becker and Dauk had three hits apiece. All three hits of Dauk's hits were for extra bases (two doubles, one triple), while Becker drove in five.
The Johnnies play a single nine-inning game against Muskingum (Ohio) at 9 a.m. ET Monday, March 7, at Terry Park.
