Men's Tennis Drops NCAA Second Round Match Versus Johns Hopkins

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team squared off against Johns Hopkins in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament this afternoon and were defeated, 5-0.

In doubles competition, FSC (6-2) sophomore Mark Baker (North Bellmore, N.Y.) and senior Zachary Baker (Carmel, N.Y.) were defeated 8-5 in the #1 position. At #2 doubles, freshman Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and sophomore Matthew Waterhouse (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) fell 8-0, while sophomore Mario Contreras (Southold, N.Y.) and junior Cooper Everett (Long Beach, N.Y.) lost 8-0 in the third slot.

Waterhouse and junior Colby Rodriguez (Huntington Station, N.Y.) dropped their matches 6-0, 6-0 in the fourth and fifth singles positions, respectively.

The Rams were eliminated from the tournament and Johns Hopkins (9-0) advances to the Sweet 16 tomorrow against host school North Carolina Wesleyan.
