HERSHEY, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's golf team sits in 14th place after the opening round of the Hershey Cup on Sunday.
Michael Brown paced the Garnet as he resides inside the top-30 of a highly-completive field of 89 golfers.
ROUND ONE RESULTS
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brown shot a 78 (+8) to tied for 29th overall after the opening round of play. The senior shot a birdie on the seventh hole as he finished five-over-par on the front nine. Brown cleaned up play on the back half as he shot three-over-par and ended his day with a eagle on the 18th hole.

Jackson Murphy carded an 82 (+12) to tie for 59th overall. The highlight of his afternoon was a pair of birdies on the fifth and seventh holes as the sophomore shot six-over-par on the front nine.

Ankur Malik shot an 84 (+14) to open play, while
Alex Cheriel rounded out the team's scorers with an 86 (+16). Cheriel recorded one birdie on the afternoon.
