The Muhlenberg women's basketball team made only two field goals in the fourth quarter and fell at Moravian, 58-54, in its final non-conference game of the season.
The Mules (2-5) took a seven-point lead into the final period after senior
Emily O'Mahoney dropped in a three with 2.7 seconds left in the third.Â
A corner three from sophomore
Tara Szawaluk accounted for the only Muhlenberg points in the first seven minutes of the final period, however, and the Greyhounds went on an 11-3 run to take a one-point lead.
Freshman
Kassidy Stout made a free throw with 2:36 left to tie the game at 49, and O'Mahoney drained a pair of foul shots with 1:49 to play for another tie, 51-all.
A three-point play gave Moravian a 54-51 lead at the 1:23 mark, but O'Mahoney answered with a stepback three to tie the score yet again 19 seconds later.
The Greyhounds regained the lead on a corner three with 36.3 ticks remaining, and Muhlenberg could not get off a shot on its ensuing possession.
O'Mahoney scored 10 points, as did freshman
Sara Peretti in her first career start. Sophomore
Mikaela McGarvey (pictured above) scored all 9 of her points on a trio of three-pointers.
Stout and sophomore
Margaux Eripret each finished with 7 points and 7 rebounds.
