HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Senior Maria Martinovic (Lawrence Township, N.J./Princeton Day School) and junior Samantha Boardman (Greenwich, Conn./Brooks School) each posted two victories to lead the Gettysburg College women's tennis team to a clean sweep of Nebraska Wesleyan University on Monday.
 
After suffering a 5-4 setback to Gordon College to start the spring, Gettysburg (4-2) sprung back with a dominant performance against Nebraska Wesleyan (2-8). Boardman teamed up with sophomore Amanda Vinges (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) for an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Martinovic and senior Maddie Class (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) cruised to an 8-1 win at the second flight. Sophomore Shaye Barnes (Rye, N.Y./Rye) and freshman Alexis Rinker (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) completed the sweep with an 8-4 decision at No. 3.
 
Martinovic won her second match in as many days at No. 1 singles with scores of 6-1, 6-0. Boardman collected her second consecutive win with scores of 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2.
 
Vinges, Class, Barnes, and Rinker all doubled up with wins as well at No. 3 (6-1, 6-0), No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), No. 5 (6-2, 6-1), and No. 6 (6-2, 6-1).
 
Gettysburg closes its spring trip against Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
