ST DAVIDS, Pa. - The Haverford College field hockey team has six road games in the month of September. The squad made sure its first of that stretch would be memorable with a convincing 4-0 win over host Eastern (1-1) on Saturday morning. The Fords (1-1), put up 16 shots while allowing just three, peppering the cage right away as Delaney Snowden scored in the second minute of play for the eventual game-winning goal.

Out of the gates, it was the Fords on the offensive with Holly Vincent rocketing a shot on frame before Snowden found the back of the cage for the early lead with just 1:22 ticked off the game clock. Vincent and Rachel Marlin each fired shots in the sixth minute, and Olivia Ahart had a solid look on frame in the seventh minute.  Anna Kirn tested Eastern goalkeeper Abby Agapito in the 14th minute, and Haverford went to work in the final moments of the frame with shots from Kirn and Vincent before a penalty corner try saw a Zoey Despines opportunity sail just wide of the cage.

Snowden was there to give the Fords the second goal of the game in the opening moments of the second period, with the senior finding her fourth goal of the season in just two games to double the advantage. Snowden is currently tied for the Centennial Conference lead in goals. Haverford added a pair of second half tallies with Abigail Trapp earning her first career goal off an assist from Bercow in the 38th minute before Anna Bradley grabbed her first career goal in the 59th minute to extend the advantage to 4-0 in the final moments of play.

The Fords dominated possession and rarely allowed the Eagles a solid attack, with a stifling backline pressure anchored by senior Lexie Streicher. Mary Smith logged her first career shutout, facing two shots, both coming in the third quarter. Haverford improves to 16-10-1 against the Eagles, with six consecutive wins in the series between Main Line rivals.

The Fords will now return home on Wednesday for a midweek contest with Stockton. The contest is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
