Box Score GAMBIER, Ohio—No. 25 Swarthmore College Women's Tennis tackled the No. 31 Case Western Reserve University Spartans 5-4 on Saturday to improve to 5-3 on the season.
The Garnet picked up two wins in doubles to lead off the match.
Vivien Fernandez-Ravelo and
Emma Kassan won second doubles 8-4. The pairing of
Elise Talley and
Sophie Brown took third doubles 8-4 as well.
With the critical margin secured in doubles, the Garnet split the singles matches with the Spartans 3-3. Brown became a double winner by rallying and taking second singles 2-6, 7-5, 7-5. Talley captured fourth singles 6-2, 6-2 for her second win of the day as well.
In fifth singles,
Shirline Wee went 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 to help Swarthmore take the win in Ohio. Swarthmore's Ohio trip continues on Sunday with a match against Kenyon College.
