Rowan Sweeps Women's Volleyball

COLLEGEVILLVE, Pa – The Ursinus College volleyball team finished off their tri-match against Rowan University (18-4) on Saturday. The Profs came into today winning 11 consecutive matches but losing their first game of the day to Dickinson College 3-1.  

The Bears (5-12, 2-4) dropped the first match of the day to the Red Devils and were unable to bounce back against the Profs losing 3-0. Rowan was able to pull ahead early into the second set leading 12-5 before Ursinus rallied eight of the next eleven points making the score 15-12 Profs. Late into the second set Katie Cressman collected three straight kills to make the score 23-22 Rowan. Natalie Ogden's kill brought the match to set point and then a Bears error allowed Rowan to take set two 25-22. 

Ursinus jumped out to a commanding 16-9 lead in set three, but Rowan took the next eight of nine points, which tied the score at 17. The Bears would then grab the lead 19-18 after a kill from Haley Spotts, but Rowan would go on to win seven out of the last nine points to sweep the Bears.  

Rowan University was led by Brooke Adams who recorded 27 assists and 8 digs in the second contest. Katie Cressman led the Bears with 13 kills, while Claire Worley had 20 assists for Ursinus.  

Ursinus resumes Centennial Conference play Tuesday at Swarthmore College.
