The Muhlenberg track and field teams tuned up for next weekend's Centennial Conference Championships by sending their throwers to Kutztown and other athletes to Haverford.
The highlight for the weekend came from the throwers, who continued to raise the bar in the weight throw. Freshman
Elek Ferency reclaimed the school record for the men at 45-7; entering the weekend only one better throw had been recorded in the CC this season. Junior
Sam Rothstein, who previously held the school record, improved his personal best to 40-11.
Ferency
(pictured above left) came in seventh in both the weight throw and the shot put.
Freshman
Maria Rivera improved her school record to 36-7 on the women's side.
At Haverford, seniorÂ
Jason Richwall once again hit the regional qualifying mark in the 3000, placing third. Sophomore
Sam Morgan came in third in the 800.Â
Senior
Emily Cooperstein (pictured above right) placed fifth in the high hurdles.
During the course of the two meets, the Mules combined for 10 new or improved CC qualifiers.
